Anyware Trusted Zero Client 24.07
Release 24.07 of the Trusted Zero Client includes the following:
Support for Media Optimization of Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Version 24.07 of the Trusted Zero Client introduces support for Media Optimization of Microsoft Teams and Media Optimization of Zoom when Trusted Zero Clients are connected to VMware Horizon. Media optimization offloads audio and video streams to the Trusted Zero Clients, which handle the processing and transmitting of the streams to and from the Omnissa VDI. This redirects audio and video calls without overloading the network, resulting in reduced latency, and improved meeting experience during Omnissa Horizon sessions using the PCoIP and Blast protocol.
Enabling media optimization requires no additional configuration aside from the installation of Microsoft Teams and Zoom for VDI. Once this is done, the teleconferencing experience is seamless, without slowing down the remote system or causing network lags.
Note: Media Optimization for Microsoft Teams requires installation of the Teams App on Horizon Agents. Media Optimization for Zoom requires installation of the Zoom Client on Horizon Agents. The Zoom Plugin is already included in Trusted Zero Client. Detailed instructions are provided in the topics "Media Optimization for Teams" and "Media Optimization for Zoom" in the Trusted Zero Client 24.07 Administrators' Guide.
Support for Automatic Login
Version 24.07 of the Trusted Zero Client allows users the ability to automatically log in from their Trusted Zero Clients to their desktops, without the need for providing their credentials at the time of login. By enabling direct access to desktops, the auto-login feature allows users to bypass the traditional login steps, thereby streamlining their login experience. For information on connecting to a PCoIP session, see Automatically Connecting to a Session.
Note: The Anyware Trust Center must be configured to enable users to automatically log in. Instructions for setting up the Trust Center are available in the Anyware Trust Center 24.07 Administrators' Guide.
Support for Omnissa (VMware) Horizon RTAV
Version 24.10 of the Trusted Zero Client now supports Real-Time Audio-Video (RTAV) for Omnissa Horizon. RTAV allows Horizon 8 users to run Skype, Webex, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, and other online conferencing applications in their remote sessions. With Real-Time Audio-Video, webcam and audio devices that are connected locally to the client system are redirected to the remote sessions.
This feature redirects video and audio data with a significantly lower bandwidth than can be achieved by using USB redirection. Real-Time Audio-Video is compatible with standard conferencing applications and browser-based video applications; and supports standard webcams, audio USB devices, and analog audio input.
Support for Touch Monitor
In version 24.07, support for Touch Monitor has been introduced. Below is a summary of the features:
- Calibration is offered when Touch Monitor is connected
- Calibration is saved on restart
- Single-monitor is supported
- Gestures are not supported (single-touch only)
Screen Arrangements Settings
While dragging and dropping monitors in the Arrange Screens Settings, the settings are applied regardless of whether the monitor is primary or secondary.
Resolved an issue with Omnissa (VMware) Horizon in-session monitor hotplug
When plugging in a new monitor while in an Omnissa (VMware) Horizon session, the new monitor is now detected and used for the session.
Issue With Enabling IPv4 Protocol
Previously, when IPv4 Protocol was disabled, it would not get reenabled in the first attempt, but would get reenabled on subsequent attempts. This issue has now been fixed.
Collaboration works differently on TZC as compared to the Desktop Client
The Collaboration feature only works in-session with a Anyware Client. That is why to establish a collaboration session from a Trusted Zero Client, you must first install Anyware Client on the Anyware Agent you are connecting to.
