License Server for Windows 24.07

Version 24.07 of the Windows Local License Server introduces the following new features and capabilities: 

Support for Windows Powershell 

Administrative commands will now be executed using Windows PowerShell instead of Command Prompt. 

Removal of Python Dependency 

In version 24.07, Python dependencies have been eliminated. PowerShell scripts are used instead. 

Support for New Administrative Commands 

Version 24.07 of Windows Local License Server introduces support for new administrative commands. These commands are used for securely adding and removing passwords from environment variables.

Resolved Issues

Windows License server could not start after configuring the network interface IP and Port

The Windows License Server could not start after configuring the the network interface IP along with the port number in the localconfiguration.yaml file.

This issue has now been fixed.

Error Was Displayed When Windows License server was Installed in Hyper-V Environment

The following error was displayed when HP Anyware License Server was installed in Hyper-V environment:

Platform is not supported

This issue has now been fixed.

When multiple versions of python were installed on the system, a selection dialog was displayed

If multiple versions of python were installed on the system, a dialog "to choose default python" was sometimes displayed.

This issue has now been fixed.
Known Issues

Uninstallation may fail if the application file paths or files are in use

During uninstallation, if any of the paths related to Windows License Server is in use (for example, if they are open in CMD or Windows Explorer) or any of the resources are in use manually (for example, if a file like flexnet.settings is open in an editor) then the folder under "C:\Program File\HP\HP Anyware License Server" will not be deleted.

Workaround:

Close all windows before uninstallation of HP Anyware License server

A command prompt window briefly appears during installation

After successful installation or upgrade, a command prompt window is displayed and then immediately closes. This is expected behavior and can be ignored.
