Support for RHEL and Rocky Linux 9

This release introduces support for RHEL 9 and Rocky Linux 9 as a TECHNOLOGY PREVIEW.

Known issues when running on RHEL 9 or Rocky Linux 9 include:

  • Audio services may fail to start. Audio issues may be resolved by disconnecting without logging out and reconnecting.
  • You may see SELinux warnings.

These issues will be addressed in future releases.

Support for Ubuntu 22.04

This release adds support for Ubuntu 22.04.

Support for Tangent Panels

The Standard Agent for Linux introduces support for Tangent panels.

The following Tangent panels are supported when connecting from a Windows or Linux software client to a Windows or Linux agent (both 23.04 or higher).

  • Tangent Ripple
  • Tangent Wave
  • Tangent Element BT
  • Tangent Element MF
  • Tangent Element KB
  • Tangent Element TK
  • Tangent Arc (Navigation)
  • Tangent Arc (Grading)
  • Tangent Arc (Function)

The Graphics Agent for macOS and the Software Client for macOS do not support Tangent panels.

Support for Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 (DTH-167)

The Standard Agent for Linux now supports the newer version of the Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 (DTH-167). This device is supported with both local termination and bridged connection modes from any PCoIP software client (PCoIP Zero Clients are not supported).

Deprecation Warning for Ubuntu 18.04

This is the last release of the Standard Agent for Linux that will support Ubuntu 18.04. Future releases will not support Ubuntu 18.04.

  • Collaboration: A new Collaboration manager replaces the collaboration management console, providing an improved interface and streamlining the process of generating and accepting collaborators. The collaboration manager displays a list of connected users, and allows the session owner to enable or disable input control for collaborators during the session. See Collaboration for more information.

    ImportantNote that all of the session owner's monitors that are in the PCoIP session will be shared when collaborating. In windowed mode or fullscreen one monitor mode, this will be the a single display. In fullscreen all monitors mode, all screens are shared.

  • GNOME Display Manager (GDM) is now supported by the Standard Agent for Linux as a credential authenticator, allowing PCoIP sessions to be locked on the remote desktop. GDM does not interfere with the PCoIP session, and starts (or restarts) and stops in parallel with PCoIP session connections. This behavior is always on and requires no configuration on the PCoIP agent. For more information on GDM, see the GNOME Display Manager Reference Manual.

  • Bug fixes and stability enhancements.
