How do I configure a Peer-to-Peer Connection between a PCoIP Zero Client and a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card?
Requirements
This article describes the configuration of a peer-to-peer, or dedicated connection between a PCoIP Zero Client and a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card including dual and quad display scenario's. Single or dual display requires a single PCoIP zero client and single PCoIP Remote Workstation Card. Three or four displays require a quad port PCoIP Zero Client and quad port PCoIP Remote Workstation Card.
Note: Four displays is the maximum number of displays supported on the quad port model. Display numbers greater than 4 or 2 high resolution displays maybe achieved via multiple PCoIP Zero Client to PCoIP Remote Workstation Card pairs. See the guide at the bottom for more information
Peer-to-Peer Direct Connection Example
This example provides an overview of how to configure a client and host for a direct connection. That is, without the use of a Connection Management server or the Enable Host Discovery option.
The following IP and MAC addresses are used for this example:
- Client: IP Address: 192.168.42.149, MAC: 00-1C-59-00-05-0E
- Host: IP Address: 192.168.50.107, MAC: 00-1C-8A-03-00-CA
Note: For a peer-to-peer direct connection, you must know the IP and MAC addresses for the client and host.
Configuring the Client Peer-to-Peer Operation
Note: This example uses the Administrative Web Interface for configuring the client for peer-to-peer operation. You can also use the OSD to configure the client.
To configure the client for peer-to-peer direct connection:
- Open the Administrative Web Interface by using an Internet browser to open the client IP address, e.g., https://192.168.42.149
- Login to the client Administrative Web Interface (with password if enabled).
- Select the Discovery page from the Configuration menu.
- Ensure Enable Host Discovery is not enabled.
- Select the Connection Management page from the Configuration menu
- Ensure Enable Connection Management is not selected.
- Select the Session page from the Configuration menu.
- In the Identify Peer by field, select the IP address.
- Enter the host IP address in Peer IP Address field, e.g., 192.168.63.14.
- Enter the host MAC address in Peer MAC Address field, e.g., 00-1A-8A-03-00-CA. *Note: You can set the peer MAC address to 0-0-0-0-0-0 to ignore this field.

- From the Diagnostics menu, select the PCoIP page.
- Click Reset to reset the PCoIP processor.
Configuring the Host Peer-to-Peer Operation

- Login to the host Administrative Web Interface (using a password if enabled).
- From the Configuration menu, select the Connection Management page.
- Ensure the Enable Connection Management option is not selected.
- From the Configuration menu, select the Session page.
