IMPORTANT NOTE: This disk sizing guideline was published for MC 2.0 and MC 2.1. In MC 2.2 we increased the default disk size and resolved the issue that was causing the disk to get full.

The latest configurations are available in HP Anyware PCoIP Management Console Administrators' Guide.
The following sizing guidelines are based on working with larger deployments.

The basic PCoIP Management Console 2.1.x OVA will create a default configuration as follows:

  • VM Hardware Version  = 7
  • CPU = 4 x vCPU
  • Memory = 4096MB
  • Provisioned Storage = 18.95GB
  • Used Storage = 14.65GB (this storage is combined VG_Main & VG_Swap partitions 8.3GB / 5.9GB)

The above settings are proven to suffice for deployments of up to 1000-1500 endpoints.
If you need to increase the VM settings, read and follow the instructions shown next.

Caution:

If your deployment is 1500 endpoints or greater, follow the below recommendations:

Note: These are recommendations and your environment may require different configurations based on the ESXi environment you are using.

1500 - 5000 endpoints

  • VM Hardware Version  = 7 (Tested HW version 7 to 11 are ok)
  • CPU = 4 x vCPU
  • Memory = 8192MB
  • Provisioned Storage = 30GB

5000 - 10,000 endpoints

  • VM Hardware Version  = 7 (Tested HW version 7 to 11 are ok)

  • Provisioned Storage = 60GB

10,000 - 15,000 endpoints

  • VM Hardware Version  = 7 (Tested HW version 7 to 11 are ok)
  • CPU = 4 x vCPU
  • Memory = 12GB
  • Provisioned Storage = 100GB

15,000 - 20,000 endpoints

  • VM Hardware Version  = 7 (Tested HW version 7 to 11 are ok)
  • CPU = 4 x vCPU
  • Memory = 12GB

Note: The PCoIP Management Console by default has its logging level set to Info. If changed to Trace, the amount of logging information will increase significantly. HP Anyware recommends leaving the logging level of the PCoIP Management Console set to Info unless you are actively investigating an issue with the PCoIP Management Console where additional logging information is required
