Session negotiation failed while connecting from Zero Client to HP Anyware. The PCoIP Zero Client may not be compatible with the host session negotiation cipher setting.
Problem
When trying to connect to a HP Anyware PCoIP Agent you receive the error "Session negotiation failed. The PCoIP Zero Client may not be compatible with the host session negotiation cipher setting."
Cause
- The PCoIP Zero Client session connection type is set to "Direct to Host". Direct to Host is one of the original connection modes intended for connecting directly to a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card. In this mode the PCoIP Zero Client attempts to connect directly on TCP port 4172 rather than TCP port 443 as required by the HP Anyware PCoIP Agent. Due to the incompatible attempt to connect the error is produced.
- Network Time Protocol (NTP) server is not set. If NTP has never been set, the time validity check may fail the certificate validation.
Resolution
- Log into the AWI of the PCoIP Zero Client or use the OSD and set the Session connection type to Auto Detect, PCoIP Connection Manger or PCoIP Connection Manager + Auto-Logon. For more information on setting these options please refer to the PCoIP Zero Client Administrators' Guide.
- Set NTP setting on Zero Client. Refer to section Configuring Time Settings on PCoIP Zero Client Administrators' Guide.
