What does "Overridable Administrator Defaults" and "Not Overridable Administrator Settings" mean?
The PCoIP Group policy template contains two folders for PCoIP Session Variables.
-
Overridable Administrator Defaults
-
Not Overridable Administrator Settings
When the PCoIP server or client loads, both settings are checked.
Step 1. Checks the Overridable Administrator Defaults variables.
-
If the GPO variable is Enabled, the configured value is used and it goes to the next step.
-
If the GPO variable is Disabled or Not Configured, it uses the default value and goes to the next step.
Step 2. Checks the Not Overridable Administrator Settings variables.
-
If the GPO variable is Enabled, the configured value is used.
-
If the GPO variable is Disabled or Not Configured, the value from Step 1 is used
The main idea is to have user settings called Overridable Administrator Defaults and for the administrator IT department to have their own settings called Not Overridable Administrator Settings. The administrator can configure a GPO value and the PCoIP uses that setting/value. If the administrator disables a value, the PCoIP software uses the user setting. The administrator can override a user setting without overwriting the actual user configuration making it possible to go back to the original user setting.
