Why does the message "Host driver may not be loaded" appear in the event log for PCoIP Remote Workstation Card?

Scenario

The PCoIP event logs for a PCoIP Remote Workstation Card (host card) may contain one or more log entries with the message Host driver may not be loaded. The following are a couple of examples of such entries:

[0d,00:22:53.800> LVL:2 RC: 0 MGMT_HCC :(tera_mgmt_hcc_user_send): scp_data_send() failed. Host driver may not be loaded.]

[0d,00:22:53.800> LVL:2 RC: 0 MGMT_HMI2 :(mgmt_hmi2_process_sess_change): hcc_user_send() failed. Host driver may not be loaded.]

Cause

These messages indicate the firmware was unable to send a message to the PCoIP Host Software. These messages will occur if the Enable Host Driver Function has been enabled and the PCoIP Host Software has not been loaded, or an incompatible version of the PCoIP Host Software has been loaded.

Resolution

The problem can be fixed by loading a compatible version of the PCoIP Host Software or by disabling the Enabled Host Driver Function on the PCoIP Remote Workstation Card via the Administrative Web Interface (AWI) or the PCoIP Management Console.
