Updating Agents & Monitors¶
Agents are installed on machines as soon as they are provisioned. However, agents and monitors must be updated in order to have access to the full set of features.
Agents & monitors can be updated in the following ways:
-
Scheduled Updates of Monitors & Agents:
Automatic updates of agents and monitors are scheduled from Anyware Manager Enterprise.
-
Updates of Agents & Monitors from the Machines tab:
Agents that are out-of-date are directly updated from the Machines tab.
-
Manual Updates of Agents
Agents can be updated manually, often with the help of IT teams, by disabling the Opportunistic Update mode.
Scheduling Monitor & Agent Updates¶
You can enable automatic updates of Anyware Monitor and Anyware agents on onboarded machines that are associated with tenants. Automatic updates can be configured in the Opportunistic mode.
In this mode, Anyware Manager Enterprise manages automatic updates, provided that the machine is idle. If the machine is busy at the scheduled time, the update is deferred until the next day.
If Opportunistic mode is not enabled, updates are managed manually. They swill not be controlled by Anyware Manager Enterprise.
Info
Only Organization Admins and Global Tenant Admins can perform this operation.
Procedure¶
-
Log on the Anyware Manager Enterprise.
-
Navigate to the tenant dashboard by clicking Tenants in the left navigation pane.
-
Click the tenant for which you want to enable automatic updates.
-
Click the Settings tab.
-
Under HP Anyware update mode, ensure that Opportunistic Update is enabled. The time box displays the time when the updates will start, and follows the timezone of the machine.
Info
Opportunistic Update is enabled automatically.
-
Click Update.
Once this is done, opportunistic updates start at the configured time.
Updating Agents and Monitors from the Machines Tab¶
If your agent version is outdated, a warning icon appears next to the machine in the machines list. The Update option in the action list is used to trigger agent updates remotely.
If there is an active session on the machine, you will be prompted to save your work. The update will start in a few minutes.
Info
Anyware agents and Anyware Monitors must be on version 25.03 or later.
Procedure¶

-
Click the tenant for which you want to operate machines, and click the Machines tab.
-

-
