What's New in This Release

This update of Anyware Manager Enterprise contains bug fixes and stability enhancements. Additionally, the following new features are supported:

Support for Physical Workstations

Anyware Manager Enterprise now supports remote management for physical workstations that are already deployed in customer environments. In a physical workstation setup, Anyware Manager Enterprise does not provision or deploy VMs, but instead, manages user—machine assignment and remote management only.

For this purpose, workstations must first be registered with Anyware Manager Enterprise. This is done by installing Anyware agents, which "register" the workstations with Anyware Manager Enterprise. Once this is done, Anyware Manager Enterprise manages the user—machine assignment and remote management for the workstations.

This deployment model is useful in scenarios where secure remote access to pre-configured workstations with powerful compute capabilities is the primary requirement. Anyware Manager Enterprise simplifies and streamlines remote management by handling user assignment and monitoring.

The ability to onboard workstations gives organizations and MSPs the freedom to choose a solution that best fits their needs. For more information, see Adding a Registered Device.

New Tenant Logs Types for Improved Insights

In the November 2024 update, two new types of logs have been introduced, in addition to admin logs:

  • Orchestration Logs

Orchestration logs contain information about automated processes associated to a tenant.

  • Session History Logs

Session history logs are records of all incoming and outgoing connections to the machines associated with a tenant.

With these new tenant log types, a wider range of actions and events can now be tracked. This ensures greater visibility, and enables you to effectively troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain audit of your Anyware Manager Enterprise instance. For more information, see the "Logs" section.

New User Account Type for Enhanced Access Control

The November 2024 update introduces a new user account type called Organization User. Organization users are assigned to specific tenants, and can only perform operations within those tenants. This new role supports limiting permissions to a subset of tenants, reducing the risks of unauthorized access, while ensuring efficient management of access control.

For more information, see User Accounts.

Improved Insights with HP Workforce Experience Integration

Anyware Manager Enterprise is now integrated with HP Workforce Experience, a comprehensive platform for enhancing the digital workspace experience. HP Workforce Experience provides centralized access to manage and monitor every PC, Mac, printer, collaboration tool, and accessory in the HP ecosystem.

HP Workforce Experience Platform supports a direct link to purchase Anyware Manager Enterprise from the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This simplifies the purchasing experience for valid Azure account holders.

Additionally, when Anyware Manager Enterprise is integrated with HP Workforce Experience, Workforce Experience agents are automatically installed on the HP Anyware agent machines managed by Anyware Manager Enterprise. Workforce Experience agents collect metrics on the agents such as CPU usage, memory utilization, throughput, latency, and network traffic. These metrics are sent back to HP Workforce Experience, where they are collected and analyzed for troubleshooting and monitoring purposes. The analytics data collected as a result enable you to identify issues, devise effective troubleshooting strategies, and allocate resources optimally.

This empowers businesses to make data-informed decisions into the state of their devices. For more information on HP Workforce Experience, see the HP Workforce Experience Web Page.

Info

To integrate with HP Workforce Experience, a company PIN is required. This PIN is available under Preferences in the Settings menu of the HP Workforce Experience platform. You must associate this PIN with tenants either at the time of adding them or editing them. Once associated, telemetry data for your HP Anyware deployment can be accessed from the HP Workforce Experience dashboard.
