What's New in This Release

Release 24.07 of the Trusted Zero Client includes the following:

Media Optimization of Microsoft Teams and Zoom on Omnissa VMware

Version 24.07 of Trusted Zero Client introduces support for media optimization of Microsoft Teams and Zoom when Trusted Zero Clients are connected to Omnissa (VMware) Horizon. Media optimization offloads audio and video streams to the Trusted Zero clients, which handle the processing and transmitting of the streams to and from the Omnissa VDI. This redirects audio and video calls without overloading the network, resulting in reduced latency, and improved meeting experience during PCoIP and Blast sessions.

Enabling media optimization requires no additional configuration aside from the installation of Microsoft Teams and Zoom in the VDI environments. Once this is done, the teleconferencing experience is seamless, without slowing down the remote system or causing network lags.

Note: Agent & Client Setup

Detailed instructions on enabling Media Optimization for Teams and Zoom are provided in the topics "Media Optimization for Teams" and "Media Optimization for Zoom".

Support for Automatic Login

Version 24.07 of the Trusted Zero Client allows users the ability to automatically log in to their desktops, without the need for providing their credentials at the time of login. By enabling direct access to desktops, the auto-login feature allows users to bypass the traditional login steps, thereby streamlining their login experience.

This feature is useful in environments such as secure factory floors (CNC operators), advertisement boards, flight status boards in airports, point-of-sale terminals, and barcode scanner terminals. For information on automatically connecting to a PCoIP session, see Automatically Connecting to a Session.

Note: Setup Required

The Anyware Trust Center must be configured to enable users to automatically log in. Instructions for setting up the Trust Center are available in the topic "Enabling Automatic Topic" in the Anyware Trust Center Administrators' Guide.

Omnissa (VMware) Horizon RTAV support

Version 24.07 of the Anyware Trust Center now supports Real-Time Audio-Video (RTAV) for Omnissa Horizon. RTAV allows Horizon 8 users to run Skype, Webex, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, and other online conferencing applications in their remote sessions. With Real-Time Audio-Video, webcam and audio devices that are connected locally to the client system are redirected to the remote sessions.

This feature redirects video and audio data with a significantly lower bandwidth than can be achieved by using USB redirection. Real-Time Audio-Video is compatible with standard conferencing applications and browser-based video applications; and supports standard webcams, audio USB devices, and analog audio input.

Support for Touch Monitor

In version 24.07, support for Touch Monitor has been introduced. Below is a summary of the features:

  • Calibration is offered when Touch Monitor is connected
  • Calibration is saved on restart
  • Single-monitor is supported
  • Gestures are not supported (single-touch only)
