What's New in This Release
Release 24.10 of the Trusted Zero Client contains bug fixes and stability enhancements. Additionally, it also includes the following:
Support for Kiosk Mode¶
Version 24.10 of the Trusted Zero Client introduces support for connecting to remote hosts in the Kiosk Mode. Kiosk Mode is ideal for connecting to fixed-purpose devices, such as point-of-sale terminals and digital signs. When Trusted Zero Clients operate in the Kiosk mode, end-users do not need to provide their credentials, and instead, only see progress indicators while establishing connections. This enables them to bypass the traditional login steps, thus ensuring a seamless login process.
For instructions on connecting in Kiosk mode, see Connecting to Remote Hosts in Kiosk Mode.
Support for Customized Login Experience¶
In version 24.10 of the Trusted Zero Client, the ability to customize login experience has been introduced. The Settings page on the client UI now has a Connections menu, with an option for enabling automatic login to Anyware Agents as well as Omnissa Horizon Agents. Additionally, users can also configure the client to remember their usernames for future connections to the remote hosts.
The new Connections menu provides granular control and the ability to bypass one or more traditional login steps. This allows for a streamlined login process and provides a personalized experience. For more information, see Customizing Automatic Login.
Support for Saving Support Bundles to Peripheral Devices¶
Version 24.10 of the Trusted Zero Client introduces the ability to save support bundles to peripheral devices. When a support bundle is created this way, it is not sent to the Trust Center. Instead, users can control where it is saved. This is useful in scenarios where Trusted Zero Clients cannot connect to the Trust Center. For more information, see Saving a Support Bundle to a Peripheral Device.
Improved Wacom Tablet Responsiveness in High Latency Networks¶
Version 24.10 introduces improvements to the responsiveness of locally-terminated Wacom tablets operating in high latency networks. For this purpose, a new variable has been introduced:
Improve graphics tablet responsiveness on high latency network
This parameter must be set on the host. Enabling it ensures smooth and consistent drawing on graphics tablets, even in high-latency network environments. This results in improved performance even if occasional packet drops are experienced.
Support for Connecting to RHEL & Rocky Graphics Linux Agents with SELinux¶
In version 24.10, support has been introduced for Trusted Zero Clients connecting to RHEL and Rocky Graphics Linux Agents. This addresses an earlier issue where connections to Linux Graphics Agents with SELinux enabled would fail after system reboot.
