Man uses Zoom VDI plugin for HP Anyware
   Back to main
HP Anyware is the enterprise software that IT needs to keep people and teams productive with secure access to their digital workspaces from any mix of infrastructure (cloud, data center, edge, workstation) and end-user device (PC, Mac, laptop, tablet, thin and zero client), anywhere.

We are very excited to share that the Zoom VDI plugin for HP Anyware is now available. The Zoom VDI plugin optimizes the video and audio experience when using Zoom with the HP Anyware Client for Windows, so users can now enjoy high-quality video and audio calls that mimic a local experience when using Zoom with HP Anyware.

HP Anyware delivers secured digital workspaces, backed by a high-performance user experience with collaboration opportunities that help hybrid workers stay connected and productive.

Seamless Zoom video conferencing experience with HP Anyware

The Zoom VDI plugins offload audio and video streams from the HP Anyware Agent to HP Anyware Client devices, which handle the processing and transmitting of these streams to and from Zoom servers. This results in significantly reduced latency and an improved meeting experience during Anyware PCoIP sessions.

Once installed and configured, the capabilities of Zoom VDI for HP Anyware enable quick adoption, leading to a seamless experience when starting and joining Zoom meetings. Zoom VDI is similar in capability to the standard Zoom app and includes features such as optional end-to-end encryption, gallery view, speaker view, language interpretation, breakout rooms, and screen sharing.

How Zoom VDI for HP Anyware Works

Zoom VDI for HP Anyware makes use of the following two components:

● Zoom VDI Client, installed on the Anyware Agent.

● Zoom Windows Universal Installer for HP Anyware, installed on each of the Anyware Client machines.

The Zoom VDI Client and the Zoom VDI Universal Plugin work in synchronization via HP Anyware communication channel to render the Zoom Meetings in layers, typically superimposing the meeting on the Anyware client window. Additionally, instead of using USB redirection, the Zoom VDI plugin utilizes the media devices of the client machines to send audio and video data to the Zoom server.

This eliminates the need for sending audio and video data from the client machines to the agent machines, and then to the Zoom servers, thereby resulting in significant improvement in video as well as audio quality. The reduction in latency ensures a seamless video conferencing experience, which is similar to the execution of the Zoom application on local client machines.

This feature is supported by Zoom VDI release 5.17.5 and Anyware Software Client for Windows, version 23.12 or later.
