Installing the Zoom Media Plugin

This topic contains instructions for installing the Zoom Media Plugin.

When installing for the first time, Zoom recommends installing the Zoom Media Plugin on thin clients first, and then installing the VDI Client Host in the virtual desktop environment. However, while updating the VDI client and plugins, first update the VDI Client Host and then update the Zoom Media plugins on thin clients.

Before you begin, ensure that you have administrator privileges on the client machine on which you want to install the Zoom Media Plugin.

Installation Procedure

1. On the client machine, access the VDI releases and downloads page in a web browser.

2. Under Compatible plugins, locate the installer version. The version must be 6.1.14 or later.

   Note: Version Parity

   The Zoom Plugin version you select must be the same as the version of the Zoom VDI Client on the agent machine.

3. Select either the Debian package of your interest next to Linux Universal installers. The .deb package will be downloaded to your computer.

4. Disconnect any PCoIP session.

5. Quit the Software Client.

6. Double-click the installer to begin the installation.

7. Open a Terminal.

8. Install the Zoom VDI Client host by running the following command:

   sudo dpkg -i <package path>
   

   where, package_path represents the debian package. For example, zoomvdi-universal-plugin-thinpro_6.1.13.deb.

Installation Location

The Zoom Media Plugin is installed in the following locations by default: /usr/lib/zoomvdi-universal-plugin/libZoomPlugin.so
