Software Client for macOS Administrators' Guide

A/V Lock

PCoIP Ultra A/V Lock provides improved video playback, reducing the difference in delays between the audio and video channels and smoothing frame playback on the client. This feature introduces a small lag in user interaction responsiveness when enabled. When audio is playing, the video frames will be delayed to align with the audio soundtrack.

PCoIP Ultra A/V Lock is available in High Performance mode. It is only available while using PCoIP Ultra CPU Offload, GPU Offload or Auto Offload.

A/V Lock is enabled on a per-display basis, so you can dedicate individual displays to playback without impacting responsiveness on the others.

To use A/V Lock:

  • If you are in windowed or fullscreen one monitor, select View > A/V Lock.

  • If you have multiple monitors, select View. You will see an option for each connected monitor. Click the monitor you want to activate A/V Lock on.

Persistent Display Topology

The A/V Lock feature is persistent across sessions from the same client, provided that the display topology has not changed.

Enhanced A/V Sync

Enhanced Audio and Video Synchronization is available in standard mode. It will also reduce the difference in delays between the audio and visual channel, but provides a less regulated synchronization of audio and video frames compared to A/V Lock. Using enhanced A/V Sync will reduce the maximum frame rate.

Like A/V Lock, Enhanced A/V Sync is enabled on a per-display basis. It can be switched off and on for individual displays in-session, and will be remembered for future sessions as long as the topology remains the same.

To use Enhanced A/V Sync, select View > Enhanced A/V Sync on the desired monitor.
