Answer:

If a USB peripheral has the same issue on both PCoIP Zero Clients and VMware View clients (repurposed PC, notebook or thin client running the View Client), it's likely that the issue is in the VMware virtual USB hub driver, or is an issue with Windows OS or USB peripheral driver.

When connecting to a virtual desktop using VMware View, there are a number of components for USB peripheral support including:

  • USB peripheral driver
  • Windows OS USB stack
  • Virtual USB hub driver with the View Agent (VMware)
  • View Client USB module (VMware)
  • PCoIP Zero Client USB module (HP Anyware)

You may need to contact VMware or HP Anyware depending on the nature of the USB peripheral issue.

Contact VMware if:

  • The USB peripheral issue happens only on a View Client
  • The USB peripheral works on a fat PC or laptop (that is not virtualized) but has an issue on a View Client and a PCoIP zero client

 Contact HP Anyware (help.teradici.com) if:

  • The USB peripheral works on a View Client, but has an issue only on a PCoIP zero client
