Overview

Anyware Software Client for Windows

Welcome to the Software Client for Windows Administrators' Guide.

Anyware Software Clients are applications that establish PCoIP sessions with remote Windows, Linux, or macOS desktops. Connections can be made to Anyware agents installed on virtual or physical machines, or to Remote Workstation Cards in physical workstations.

Using Displays

Using Displays

When you connect to a PCoIP session, the Software Client for Windows shows your remote desktop as one or more displays. The number of displays it shows is constrained by your local system's available monitors (and the PCoIP protocol itself, which supports up to four monitors).

Selecting Audio Devices

Selecting Audio Devices in Session

While in session, you can select audio devices that will be forwarded to the agent. If more than one audio device is connected to the client machine, you can select up to two audio output devices, and one audio input device after a PCoIP session has been established.

Reset Virtual Desktop

Resetting a Desktop

The following section outlines how to reset a saved desktop in the Anyware Client.

  1. Launch Anyware client.

  2. From the Saved connections list, locate the desktop that you want to reset.

  3. Hover over the desktop until the vertical ellipsis icon is revealed, and then click it.

Connecting USB Devices

Connecting USB Devices

Remote desktops can use USB devices that are attached to the client, using a process called redirection. USB devices are not automatically redirected to the remote desktop; they must be specifically connected to the session.

Note: Excludes Mice and Keyboards

Configuring Wacom Tablets

Configure Wacom Devices

This section outlines how to configure your Wacom tablet through the Anyware Client session. There are two available features within the Anyware Client that can be used to configure the monitor display and orientation. This only applies to locally terminated Wacom Tablets.

Xencelabs Pen Display Support

Supported Xencelabs Pen Displays

Xencelabs Pen Displays are supported in the locally terminated mode, where peripheral data is processed locally at the Software Client. It is also supported in the bridged mode, where peripheral data is sent to the desktop for processing.

Support is available when a connection is initiated from a Windows Client to a Windows Graphics or Standard agent.

Webcams

Webcam Support

The Software Client for Windows now supports USB webcams when connecting to a Anyware Agent for Windows. USB webcams can now be used while in the remote desktop, including with applications such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
