Previous release information:
Smart Cards Authentication for Enhanced Security
Version 24.03 of the Linux Client SDK introduces support for two-factor authentication using smart cards. The Linux SDK can now use smart cards for pre-session authentication while launching the Linux client to connect to a Windows agent. Once launched, Linux clients can read and process smart card information and allow SSO (single sign-on) authentication of the user prior to session establishment.
To enable smart card authentication, new parameters have been provided in the login_info.txt file of the Broker API and the Core API, using which values such as certificate index, reader name, and pin can be passed while launching the client.
Smart card authentication not only adds a layer of security, but also ensures simplified identity management while accessing PCoIP deployments. For information on supported smart cards and readers, see- the topic "Supported Smart Cards & Readers" in the Linux Client Guide. To know how to connect to Windows agents using smart card authentication, see "Using a Smart Card to Authenticate a Connection" in the topic "Connecting to Remote Desktops" of the Linux client guide.
Note: SDK support for smart card authentication is available as TECHNOLOGY PREVIEW in version 24.03.

What's New in This Release
This release introduces the following features and enhancements to the PCoIP Client Software SDK 19.11 for Linux:
Connecting USB flash devices to a remote host
You can now connect USB flash devices to a remote host. Only flash drives can be connected. Only the USB 2.0 protocol is currently supported.
- USB 3.0 flash drives will not work when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but will work when plugged into a USB 2.0 port.
- USB 2.0 flash drives will work when connected to a USB 3.0 port.
Improved Audio Input Bandwidth
PCoIP monitors the bandwidth available for audio and selects the audio compression algorithm that provides the best quality possible for the available bandwidth. Previously PCoIP endpoints use the Opus audio codec for audio output only, now this codec is available for audio input. By using the OPUS codec for audio input, high quality audio recording is possible even when bandwidth is limited.
Enhanced Security and Stability
This release contains improvements and enhancements around the security and stability of the PCoIP Client Software SDK for Linux.
PCoIP Ultra
This release contains improved support for PCoIP Ultra, our latest PCoIP protocol enhancements. This is an evolving feature that will continually improve with each release. For more information see the PCoIP Agent documentation.
Auto-Forward USB Devices
This release enables USB devices to be automatically redirected to the remote desktop on connection. Either all devices can be forwarded or a set of devices specified by VID/PID.
